Infinity, Poster Contest

Introduction :

Hello everyone! Myself Tulasi, a 3rd year Computer Science student. I would like to share my experience about the program “INFINITY” conducted by Dr. Abinav Dayal, Ph.D. Northwestern University USA | M.Tech. IIT Delhi.

Agenda for the program :

  • On September 4th, 2019 :- Filling the Registration form for participation
  • On September 5th, 2019 :- Poster Design
  • On September 6th, 2019 :- Demo by students

Requirements :-

  • Only CSE/IT students of second year
  • No programming skills required
  • Bring own stationary

Venue :-

  • VIT innovation center, VIT Bhimavaram

On September 5th :-

Firstly, the registered students are gathered at Innovation center. They form teams of four members including both girls and boys. Then team members gathered together, brought our stationary and started thinking about our poster design.

  • About our Poster design :-

A Stitch in Time saves Nine”  is mainly about TIME. The first thing is how to save time. The heading mainly refers to “if you sort out a problem immediately it may save a lot of extra work later”. Direct meaning of the heading is “If we stitch a torn part of our cloth immediately, then it cannot be torn further”.

Our team members discussed the examples referring to time like exam preparation, work in time to achieve a goal and clarifying doubts.

On September 6th :-

  • Preview by Dr. Abhinav Dayal sir :

On this day, we are ready with our designs. Faculty provided us with QR code and a paper with team details. We pasted it on the wall. For preview, all teams took their poster to Abhinav Dayal sir. He corrected some mistakes and asked to redesign the poster.

  • Students and Faculty  gathering for grading posters :

Students explained about their posters to faculty and students. They used to give ratings through a QR code. They used to ask questions about our poster.

  • Our Team members :

We really enjoyed it by explaining our project to faculty, students and our seniors. It’s really a great experience for us. At the moment we start, we are really afraid of speaking. But after some time, we were really astonished by our speech. All the faculty encouraged us a lot. We improved our team work skills and communication skills. The best part

of it is rating our project.

Results announcement by our beloved Principal,  Dr. SuryaNarayana garu

Sir announced the results by the rating given by students and faculty. I am very happy that our team won a prize. They provided a certificate and vishnu cap.

At the end of the day, we learnt more and there is “INFINITY” to learn.
